Cell phones are becoming to today's youth what rock and roll was the youth in the 1960s. About 80% teenagers have cell phones worldwide, and have developed their own language and social groups away from the prying eyes of their parents.

In Japan, teenagers are obsessed with their cell phones. Some experts estimate that 96% of all Japanese children have cell phones when they reach secondary school. A study shows that those children spent between 90 and 125 minutes per day on their phones, using them to read books, chat with friends, surfing the net or listen music.Many experts suggest that these young people are using these phones for Security, as the degree of use is spent with children who had problems at home.

American children used cell phones to form friendships and social groups away from their families, believing that these phones ensured their privacy they would not otherwise. Although some children still talk to their parents, many more prefer to communicate with them via text messaging to that children did not answer any questions they do not want to. This also creates the problem of child misunderstandings mood of their parents because text messaging does not show the difference between sarcasm and anger. As cell phone use becomes more common (some experts estimate that by 2010, 81% of Americans between the ages of 5 and 24 will own a phone cell), communication between parents and their children may be even more impersonal.

Another problem with today's children are obsessed with cell phones is the fact that some children admit to texting while driving. While some states have banned talking on cell phone while behind the wheel, it may be interesting to see how the government treats the act of sending messages while driving. After all, the driver can keep the phone out of sight, as text messages.

A serious issue affecting young people and mobile cell appeared in a survey of college students. In 305 of these students, 40% of mobile phone users admitted that some hand they walked at night they would have never gone before they have their cell phones. ¾ of these students admitted that they felt safer because of these devices. In fact, experts agree that these students are more vulnerable because they are less likely to pay attention to their surroundings because many of these cell phone users also admitted in the forward march of the movement while speaking.

Other countries have also reported other serious problems related to youth and use of cell phones. In Japan, young women had visited a dating site and several had unwanted sex with men that contacted them. In Britain, some children have been bullied to report on their cellphones.
