How do I add a ringtone to my my iphone?

Ok i got my new iPhone 3G today and is the first time I got.Am iphone new to it so my question is that I can take pieces of my music on my iPhone and add it as a ringtone on the iPhone do I have self.Or use iTunes, and drag songs in the ringtone section when syhnc with the iPhone and chose what I want you to ringtone.Thank the answers up front.

In fact, it's more complicated than a simple drag and drop. Here's what I do every time. No need to go to other additional sites or programs. 1) Pick your song you want to make into a ringtone in iTunes. 2) Right click> Get Info or File> Get information or Apple> I. 3) Go to Options when the Get Info window opens. 4) Click the checkboxes to launch Start and stop time, manually enter the start and end time of the song you want as a ringtone. 5) Now press OK. 6) Then go to Advanced> Convert Selection in AAC, which will create a copy of the song, but only the portion you want as a ringtone. If it says "Convert to MP3" isntead, just go to the preferences to change it to AAC and you'll be fine. 7) The copy will be entitled under the original in iTunes, you'll see the difference in time with the selection you have chosen must be a ringtone length, like 30 seconds. Right click on the selection and choose Show in Finder, or File> Show in the Finder, it should be an M4A file. Simply click on the file name to edit it and change it to m4r, this will turn it into a ringtone to be recognized by iTunes. 9) Back to iTunes, find the small selection of the song that you converted into an image, then drag it from iTunes on your desktop. 10) It will make a copy of it and it should now be in your iTunes and desktop. Then, back in iTunes, delete the selection you just moved in the office. 11) Double-click on the file you dragged to your desktop and it should open and play in the "Ringtones" from your iTunes. 12) Sync.
