How can I stop my LG dare going off to school.?

I'm going off (if im not using it) and silence it but it still gets in my sounds or music plays. I do not want to disable, lock, and then store them in my bag back as text I sometimes at school (dont hate, I sometimes text my mother to bring me the stuff because of my teachers wont Call) so please if anyone has tips on how to do that on my LG dare, but did not come please help: D
