Our phones are very useful and used on a regular basis. Through them, we are able to communicate with one another whenever we want and where we are. So we should always take care of these gadgets. But in the case of unfortunate events as a phone cell disappearing, nuisance callers or stolen, we should not have panicked and trying methods of tracking and tracing the place.

Although the use of such monitoring and research methods is precisely how I managed to trace a phone I lost. A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I bought new phones as birthday gifts to each other. Units we bought are different styles but with very similar characteristics. Our cell phones include MP3, WiFi connectivity, and GPS Navigation side of normal duties. We are aware of phone thefts that happen in our neighborhood, we decided to use telephone follow-up. After all, it is better to play safe than be sorry. At first we thought to install software tracking in our mobile phone.

This software allows a person to be the phone of another person at any time. To enable the tracking service, a confirmation message is sent to the person being monitored. However, if we use it, it would not be possible for us to locate our phones if the two units are lost. For example, if I lost my phone, it could be followed using my boyfriend since I'm already confirmed the message was sent using his cell phone. But if his cell phone is lost and we too phone use by another person, the confirmation message sent to the lost unity will certainly be ignored, so not be able to be tracked.

So we decided to record an account of website that provides the location of the phone. One day I was in the cafeteria when my boyfriend called. He said he has football training and locker room is being repaired and I wanted to keep his phone while he is away. I said yes and he left his cell phone. I put the phone in my laptop bag with mine. Participating artists include Ryoji Ikeda, Hazard, Carsten Nicolai, Phill Niblock, Pan Sonic's Mika Vainio, and Oren Ambarchi, among many others. Free improv saxophonist Evan Parker also submits a circular-breathing tone and animal recordings from Chris Watson and Doug Quinn's libraries widen the scope of possibilities. The problem: As an album, its interest remains pretty limited. Sure, it is fun to hear what each person came up with, but once you have listened to it once, you will probably only take it out to show off to friends -- while you wait for the time you can actually use it, that is. School Fight?

So it's a long question. On Monday this little child and I'm in a food fight important. Later that day he began ordering a bunch of ringtones on my cell phone and he said (in a text message from society ringtone) that "I" has ordered 26 ringtones at $ 10 each, and that costs would come on my cell phone bill. That would really suck because I would have to pay for that. The next day he began to swear and make death threats and shit, so we got in another fight, where I got spaghetti caramel on all the clothes. Right now I really want to beat him and I know I could, but do not want trouble with the school. Question 1: Is the charge $ 260 to spend, which means I really need to pay for it? The child has no access to my phone, just my number, so I do not think it would work if I never got the things he has commanded. Question 2: What should I do from here?

The Beat Is... $13.59 When the pristine power pop of Alphabeat's eponymous domestic debut was buffed up and made over into the even shinier, synthier version of itself that became their gleamingly fluorescent international debut (retitled This Is Alphabeat), it sure seemed like the Danish sextet had hit some kind of insurmountable limit, an ultimate pinnacle of pure pop that just couldn't get any brighter or peppier. That turned out not to be the case, however: The Beat Is... (which, like its predecessor, sports a different title from its Danish counterpart, The Spell, as well as a marginally revised track sequence) is an even glossier, more unabashedly poptastic affair than their first album. Continuing in the overtly dancy direction signaled by the tracks added to their debut's re-release (in particular "Touch Me Touching You") and the popular Pete Hammond remix of "Boyfriend," and slightly updating the band's oh-so-'80s touchstones, Beat takes its cues from turn of the '90s club music: Hi-NRG, Euro-beat, hip-house, and the Scandinavian synth-reggae of Ace of Base. Leading the way is a clutch of undeniable floor-fillers boasting just about every era-appropriate production trick imaginable: the chunky piano riffs and Styrofoam string hits of the instantly infectious "The Spell" (a better, sleeker leadoff than the rather quizzical, vocoder-heavy title track), the filtered rush and gleefully superfluous turntable scratches of "DJ," the swelling snares and kinetic popcorn synths of "Heatwave" -- all of them colossal earworms that also happen to showcase Stine Bramsen's impressively gritty, soulful house-diva vocals. There's nothing remotely approaching a ballad -- the darkly dramatic "Heart Failure" comes closest to the moody fare that slightly sank the latter half of their debut, but even that features a bumptious disco beat -- but the album does mellow a bit for the winningly slinky "Q&A" and "Chess" (which earns points for an unusual if clunky lyrical conceit and a genuinely playful arrangement featuring timpani, marimbas, and amusingly adulterated vocals). While the stylistic dictates of this material may have made Alphabeat's songwriting a bit more simplistic this time out (not that their earlier work was exactly overflowing with structural complexity), their knack for melodic hooks is as sharp as ever. Some listeners may pine for the less streamlined, less electronic, arguably more personable style of their debut, which after all peddled a distinctly different shade of retro-pop nostalgia, but those willing to move with the times (or rather, the 20-year revival cycle) will agree that the 'Beat have crafted another winner. ~ K.
